NTPC Bongaigaon Kicks Off Swachhta Pakhwada 2026

New Delhi, May 17: NTPC Limited’s Bongaigaon project on May 16 commenced Swachhta Pakhwada 2026 with a collective pledge-taking ceremony, reinforcing its commitment to cleanliness, environmental sustainability, and community engagement.

The fortnight-long campaign, being observed from May 16 to 31, was inaugurated at the station’s Administrative Building with participation from employees, senior officials, union representatives, and key stakeholders.

Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, administered the Swachhta Pledge in the presence of Anurag Gupta, General Manager (Operations and Maintenance), along with representatives of employee unions and associations.

Employees collectively reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining cleanliness across workplaces, residential colonies, and surrounding communities, aligning with the broader objectives of the Swachh Bharat mission.

Swachhta Pakhwada 2026 aims to promote hygiene, sanitation, environmental awareness, and sustainable practices through active employee and community participation.

As part of the initiative, NTPC Bongaigaon has planned a series of activities including cleanliness drives, awareness campaigns, plantation programmes, waste management initiatives, and community outreach efforts across plant premises, residential townships, schools, and nearby villages.

The programmes are designed to increase awareness about sanitation, hygiene, and environmental responsibility while encouraging broader citizen participation in sustainable practices.

Educational institutions also joined the campaign, with NTPC Notre Dame Academy marking the beginning of Swachhta Pakhwada through a student pledge ceremony.

Manju Joseph, Principal of the school, administered the pledge and encouraged students to embrace cleanliness, discipline, and environmental consciousness in their daily lives.
