India-UAE Relations in Focus as Vikram Misri Visits Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, May 08: Vikram Misri on Thursday met Reem Al Hashimy in Abu Dhabi, where both sides reviewed the full spectrum of the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation across key sectors while also addressing the evolving regional situation and global issues of mutual concern.

India-UAE Strategic Partnership Reviewed

The MEA stated that both countries identified new areas for cooperation under the growing India-UAE strategic partnership framework.

The meeting comes amid heightened regional tensions in West Asia following recent attacks in the UAE.

PM Modi Condemns Fujairah Attack

Earlier this week, Narendra Modi strongly condemned the attack in Fujairah that injured three Indian nationals.

PM Modi termed attacks on civilians and infrastructure “unacceptable” and reaffirmed India’s solidarity with the UAE.

He also stressed the importance of peaceful resolution through dialogue and diplomacy and highlighted the strategic significance of safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz for regional stability and global energy security.

Indian Embassy Monitoring Situation

The Embassy of India in the UAE stated that it remains in contact with local authorities to ensure proper medical care and welfare support for the injured Indian nationals.

The UAE government blamed Iran for the attacks, describing them as “renewed unprovoked aggression” involving missiles and drones targeting civilian sites and infrastructure.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the incident a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, terming it a direct threat to the country’s security and territorial integrity.
