Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited maintains stable LPG supply, ramps up enforcement against malpractices
Mumbai, April 5, 2026: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has reaffirmed that domestic LPG supplies remain stable and adequate, with daily dispatches of over 15.2 lakh cylinders, aligned with normal distribution levels despite global geopolitical uncertainties.
The company said LPG distribution continues to receive top operational priority, ensuring uninterrupted supply to households across the country.
HPCL also reported stable fuel supply across its retail network on April 3:
- 36,188 KL petrol (over 3.6 crore litres) supplied
- 67,339 KL diesel (over 6.7 crore litres) supplied
Digital adoption remains strong, with around 93% of LPG bookings being made through platforms such as IVRS, SMS, missed call, HP Pay, and WhatsApp. Deliveries are secured via DAC/OTP authentication, ensuring transparency and safe delivery.
To curb irregularities, HPCL has intensified enforcement:
- 3,650+ inspections conducted
- Action taken against 31 distributors, including 12 suspensions
In coordination with other oil marketing companies and state authorities:
- 653 raids conducted
- 40 FIRs registered
- Over 3,163 cylinders seized
The company continues to address customer concerns through its digital platforms and helpline services.
HPCL reiterated that there is no shortage of LPG, advising consumers to avoid panic booking, unnecessary queuing, or stockpiling, and to rely only on official sources of information.
The PSU reaffirmed its commitment to seamless supply, transparency, and strict enforcement to safeguard consumer interests.
