Gandhinagar, Feb 25: Gujarat will host the third edition of the Semiconnect Conference on March 1 in Gandhinagar, bringing together global semiconductor CEOs, policymakers and industry leaders to deliberate on India’s growing footprint in the global semiconductor value chain.
The two-day conference is being organised by the state’s Department of Science and Technology and the Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM). The event aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of technological self-reliance, with semiconductors positioned at the core of India’s growth strategy.
The conference will be inaugurated in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, among other dignitaries.
Under the theme “Gujarat: India’s Gateway to Silicon,” the state aims to reinforce its ambition of becoming a major semiconductor manufacturing and research hub. Discussions will focus on next-generation chip manufacturing, logistics and export readiness for hubs such as Dholera and Sanand, workforce development, and strengthening India’s electronics ecosystem.
