Ahmedabad, Feb 23: Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, on Sunday reviewed key thermal power investments in eastern India, reinforcing the Group’s expanding infrastructure footprint in Jharkhand and Bihar.
During his visit to Godda, Jharkhand, Adani inspected the 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant developed at an investment of over Rs 16,000 crore.
The project, located in a tribal-dominated region, has generated significant direct and indirect employment and strengthened regional rail connectivity. The plant supplies electricity to Bangladesh under a long-term cross-border agreement.
In Bihar, Adani assessed plans for a proposed 2,400 MW ultra-supercritical power project at Pirpainti near Bhagalpur, involving an estimated investment of over Rs 27,000 crore.
The project is targeted for completion within four to five years and is expected to support rising industrial and urban power demand in the state.
