New Delhi, Feb 16 As India hosts the AI Impact Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday underscored that the event is designed to bring the global community together to deliberate on the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
In a post on X, the Prime Minister welcomed world leaders, industry executives, innovators, policymakers, researchers and technology professionals to the Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. He noted that the theme, “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya” (welfare for all, happiness for all), reflects a shared commitment to leveraging AI for inclusive and human-centric progress.
The Prime Minister highlighted AI’s transformative role across sectors including healthcare, education, agriculture, governance and enterprise. He stated that the Summit will advance global dialogue on innovation, collaboration and responsible AI deployment, with outcomes expected to shape a progressive, innovation-led and opportunity-driven future.
Emphasising India’s leadership in the AI ecosystem, he noted that the country’s progress is anchored in its digital public infrastructure, vibrant startup ecosystem and cutting-edge research, positioning India at the forefront of AI transformation.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the India AI Impact Expo 2026 at the same venue. Scheduled from February 16 to 20 alongside the Summit, the Expo spans over 70,000 square metres across 10 arenas and will bring together global technology companies, startups, academic institutions, Union Ministries, state governments and international partners.
The Expo will feature 13 country pavilions representing Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan and several African nations, highlighting cross-border collaboration in AI.
With over 300 curated exhibition pavilions and live demonstrations structured around the themes of People, Planet and Progress, the event will showcase more than 600 high-potential startups presenting globally scalable solutions already deployed in real-world settings.
The India AI Impact Expo 2026 is expected to attract over 2.5 lakh visitors, including international delegates. More than 500 sessions featuring over 3,250 speakers and panelists will examine AI’s cross-sectoral impact and outline pathways to ensure equitable and responsible adoption worldwide.
According to an official statement, the Expo will serve as a national showcase of AI in action—where policy converges with implementation, innovation scales to impact and technology delivers tangible value to citizens.
