New Delhi, Feb 14: On February 14, the Union Cabinet approved an 11.56 km extension of the Noida Metro, linking Sector 142 to Botanical Garden, which adds eight new elevated stations and expands the metro network to 61.62 km.
This extension aims to enhance urban mobility in the National Capital Region, facilitating seamless interchange with the Delhi Metro’s Blue and Magenta Lines. It will improve access to commercial centers, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities, thereby reducing road congestion.
The project is expected to lower carbon emissions and stimulate local economies, providing equitable public transport access and improving quality of life for diverse socio-economic groups. Officials describe it as a transformative step for Noida’s long-term sustainability and economic growth.
