New Delhi, Feb 14: Cabinet approval has been granted for three multi-tracking railway projects, covering 12 districts in Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, at a cost of Rs 18,509 crore.
These initiatives will expand Indian Railways’ network by approximately 389 km, enhancing connectivity for nearly 3,902 villages and a population of about 97 lakh. The projects, aligned with the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan, aim to improve multi-modal connectivity and logistic efficiency.
Key routes include the Kasara–Manmad, Delhi–Ambala, and Ballari–Hosapete lines, which promise increased mobility, reduce congestion, and support significant tourism and freight traffic, adding 96 MTPA capacity.
The Cabinet emphasizes the projects will foster comprehensive regional development and employment opportunities.
