Chennai, Feb 13 NLC India Limited (NLCIL), A Navratna status PSU under the Ministry of Coal has become the first organisation in India to receive the IPMA Delta Competence Class 3 “Standardised” Certification, marking a significant milestone in project governance and execution excellence.
The certification was conferred on February 13, 2026, at the IPMA Global Project Professional Forum 2026 held in Mahabalipuram, Chennai. The award was presented by Tamil Nadu IT Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan to CMD Prasanna Kumar Motupalli in the presence of senior leadership and international dignitaries.
Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD NLC India Limited, said the IPMA Delta Certification marks a major milestone, validating the company’s structured project management and strong governance framework. He credited the achievement to the collective efforts of employees past and present, whose engineering excellence and institutional values have strengthened NLCIL’s execution capabilities and global recognition.
Organised under the aegis of the International Project Management Association, the forum focused on AI, innovation and sustainability in project management.
The IPMA Delta Certification is a comprehensive organisational assessment covering leadership, governance systems, project processes and professional competence. NLCIL was recognised for its structured project management framework, operational PMO and alignment with global standards.
The company also received the PMA Leadership Excellence Award, reinforcing its position as a benchmark PSU in governance, project execution and sustainable value creation.
