Lucknow, Feb 11: Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented a Rs 9,12,696.35 crore budget for 2026-27, marking a 12.9% increase from the previous year.
The budget emphasizes capital expenditure, law and order, and healthcare, with 19.5% allocated to capital investment. Significant allocations include Rs 1,374 crore for police infrastructure and Rs 14,997 crore for medical education, aiming to enhance public health services.
Measures under the Ayushman Bharat scheme support nearly 49.22 lakh families. The state’s GSDP is projected at Rs 30.25 lakh crore, with per capita income rising to an estimated Rs 1,20,000 by 2025-26.
Notable initiatives also include a New and Emerging Technologies Mission and development of agricultural export hubs, underpinning UP’s significant role in India’s electronics and agriculture sectors.
