New Delhi, Feb 10: India’s energy sourcing decisions are driven by national interest, focusing on diversification and competitive pricing, as stated by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
He emphasized the need for stable and affordable energy supplies, with India relying on imports for 80-85% of its energy needs.
Misri noted that protecting consumers and ensuring reliable supplies at appropriate prices are government priorities. He highlighted India’s role in maintaining price stability in global energy markets.
Minister Hardeep Singh Puri mentioned that India’s strategic petroleum reserves can sustain the country for 74 days during supply disruptions and that India’s refining capacity has increased significantly.
