Budget 2026–27 Unveils ₹10,000 Crore Growth Fund to Boost SMEs

New Delhi, Feb 1: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a Rs 10,000 crore SME Growth Fund in Budget 2026-27 to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and enhance their competitiveness and resilience.

Additionally, Rs 2,000 crore will be added to the Self-Reliant India Fund to assist micro enterprises.

The government aims to bolster MSMEs as a crucial growth engine through a three-pronged approach: establishing the SME fund for equity support, enhancing liquidity support via TReDS, which has already facilitated over Rs 7 lakh crore for MSMEs, and providing professional support through institutions like the ICAI and ICSI to develop compliant para-professionals in smaller towns.
