Guwahati, Feb 1: The Federation of Industry and Commerce of the North Eastern Region (FINER) expressed satisfaction with the Union Budget 2026-27, describing it as growth-oriented and fiscally disciplined.
They welcomed the highest-ever capital expenditure of Rs 12.2 lakh crore, aimed at boosting infrastructure, investment, and job creation. FINER highlighted the budget’s focus on MSMEs, including a proposed Rs 10,000 crore SME growth fund.
The initiatives for manufacturing, such as establishing Chemical Parks and supporting the semiconductor sector, were noted for enhancing domestic capacity.
The budget’s support for textiles and skilling initiatives was also appreciated, alongside measures to strengthen tourism and urban infrastructure. Overall, FINER deemed the budget conducive to sustainable economic growth across sectors, particularly benefiting the Northeast region.
