New Delhi, Dec 04: The Government of India has initiated the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) aimed at enhancing the quality and reliability of power supply to consumers through financially sustainable and operationally efficient distribution.
So far, approximately Rs 37,000 crore has been granted under the scheme, representing 38% of the total Gross Budgetary Support. The release of funds to Distribution companies (DISCOMs) is dependent on their achievement of specific milestones and compliance with fund release guidelines.
Currently, there are no pending claims from any states regarding the approval of Distribution Infrastructure works.
The document also provides a detailed state-wise breakdown of sanctioned budgets and funds released for fiscal years 2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26 up to November 28, 2025, listing each state’s financial allocations and releases. The information was conveyed by Minister of State for Power, Shripad Yesso Naik, in a Lok Sabha session.
