New Delhi, July 01: The Thermal Units of NLC India Limited were honoured with the prestigious “Environment Excellence Gold Award – Thermal Sector (2025) during the1st Annual GreenEnviro Environment Awards held at Lonavala, Maharashtra, on Thursday, 19th June 2025 in recognition of their exceptional contributions and outstanding achievements in the field of Environmental Protection.
The prestigious award was presented to the Chief General Manager, NLCIL Thermal Units in the august presence of Suresh Prabhu, former Union Railway Minister and Pasha Patel, former Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council & Chairman of Maharashtra State Agriculture Price Commission.
This recognition accentuates the relentless efforts andsteadfast commitment of NLC India Ltd. in the implementation of Environmental Management System, Conservations of Natural Resources, Protection of Environment, Compliance to Statutory Requirements and adapting to the Just-Transition inline with India’s Commitment to Sustainable Power Generation “SwachhUrja, SashaktBhavishya (Clean Energy, Strong Future).
Subsequent to the conferment of the award, M. Venkatachalam,Director (Power), Chief General Manager (Thermal) along with Thermal Unit Heads & Nodal Officer, Thermal Environment, formally handed over the award and certificate to Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, the Chairman and Managing Director, NLC India Ltd. on 21stJune 2025 whose unwavering support, dynamic leadershipand strategic vision is driving Environmental Excellence at NLCIL.
The Annual GreenEnviro Environment Awards & Summit 2025 brought various industries, speakers& stakeholders from the Mining and the Energy sectors on one platform enabling sharing of views on “Sustainable Development Goals for Climate Change in current Business Scenario, Water Conservation & Climate Resilience, Green Energy & Carbon Footprint Reduction and Energy Efficiency in achieving Sustainable Power Generation.”
