Neyveli, June 21 NLC India Limited proudly joined the Nation in observing the International Yoga Day 2025 with enthusiastic and whole-hearted participation by its employees, stakeholders and their families across Neyveli including its Industrial Units and schools, reflecting its commitment to health, wellness, and holistic living.
In line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and strategic guidance of Union Minister for Coal and Mines G.Kishan Reddy as well as the Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey, to mark the completion of 10 years of the International Yoga Day, NLCIL has taken the initiative to symbolically celebrate the Yoga day with 10000 Yoga enthusiasts at Neyveli.
This year marks the 11th International Day of Yoga with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”. 10,000 participantsat the Bharathi Stadium, Schools, Industrial Units in Neyveli and about 1000 at NLCIL outside projects and offices performed Yoga with flexibility exercises, simple asanas, pranayama and meditation in the event held today.
Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLCIL led the celebrations by participating in the mass demonstration of Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) Yoga practice at Bharathi Stadium, Neyveli on 21st June 2025 alongside Functional Directors of NLCIL, Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines) & P&P (AC), Samir Swarup, Director (HR), M. Venkatachalam, Director (Power), Senior officials of NLCIL, Students, representatives of recognised Trade Unions, Associations, Welfare Federationsand members of various cultural and Yoga organisations.
The day’s celebrations were not confined to a single venue. Mass demonstrations of the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) were also performed at various Industrial Units, schools and outside projects of NLCIL
Ever since 21st June was declared as the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations General Assembly, NLCIL has been celebrating the event annually in a befitting manner.
nlc This year, in line with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Coal, NLCIL had made elaborate arrangements to create awareness and celebrate the event in a grand manner. A 7-day Yoga Bootcamp was organised by the NLCIL Education, Sports & Culture Department led by skilled yoga experts focusing on physical vitality and mental well-being. Special yoga seminars extolling the benefits of yoga practice were also held for the public at various centres of Neyveli Township.
A robust social media campaign was also carried out in co-ordination with the Ministry of Coal emphasizing the positive outcomes from Yoga and creating awareness on the significance of the event.
With whole-hearted participation from across NLCIL, the International Day of Yoga 2025 has turned out to be a momentous occasion to celebrate Yoga, a pathway for a healthy, harmonious and sustainable future for all.
