New Delhi, Aug 21: The area of Teesta Basin Region has been subject to periodic natural subsidence/landslides during the ongoing monsoon season. Today’s incident of landslide at NHPC 510 MW Teesta-V Power Station (Sikkim) also occurred due to subsidence/landslide over Tail Race Tunnel (TRT) outlet structure and behind GIS Building. This has affected TRT Gate hoist structure and part of the GIS Building. The power station is currently not operational and undergoing restoration works after flash flood of October 2023.
NHPC’s expert team from Corporate Office is visiting the power station to assess the situation, assessment of losses and plan for remedial works.
तीस्ता बेसिन क्षेत्र में वर्तमान मानसून के दौरान समय-समय पर प्राकृतिक रूप से भूस्खलन की घटनाएं होती रही हैं। एनएचपीसी के 510 मेगावाट तीस्ता-V पावर स्टेशन, (सिक्किम) में हुई आज की भूस्खलन घटना टेल रेस टनल (टीआरटी) आउटलेट संरचना और जीआईएस बिल्डिंग के पीछे की जमीन धंसने के कारण घटित हुई है। इस घटना से टीआरटी गेट होइस्ट स्ट्रक्चर और जीआईएस बिल्डिंग का कुछ हिस्सा प्रभावित हुआ है। वर्तमान में पावर स्टेशन प्रचालन में नहीं है और अक्टूबर, 2023 में आई अचानक बाढ़ के बाद यहाँ पुनर्स्थापना का कार्य चल रहा है।
एनएचपीसी के निगम मुख्यालय से विशेषज्ञ दल स्थिति का आकलन करने, घटना के कारण हुई क्षति का आकलन करने तथा सुधारात्मक कार्यों की योजना बनाने के लिए पावर स्टेशन के दौरे पर है ।
