NLCIL’S ACTIVE SUPPORT TO THE CUDDALORE BOOK FAIR AS AN ORGANIZING SPONSOR – A COMMITMENT TO SOCIAL WELFARE

New Delhi, March 06: A Book Fair, organized for the first time in Cuddalore  in a big way with over 100 stalls, was inaugurated on 3rd March at Cuddalore. The Book Fair was conducted in collaboration with the Booksellers and Publishers of South India (BAPASI).

NLC India Limited, the premier Public Sector Enterprise in the region, in keeping with its commitment to social welfare, has readily extended its support as a organizing sponsor of the Book Fair. As a gesture, the District Administration has offered NLCIL a slot for stall in the Book Fair premises.

The Book Fair was inaugurated by  C.V. Ganesan,  Hon’ble Minister for Labour Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu on 3rd March, 2023. Following this, he also inaugurated the NLCIL Stall in the Book Fair, in the presence of M. Prasanna Kumar, CMD, NLCIL, District Collector, Balasubramaniam, Cuddalore Superintendent of Police, Ayyappan, MLA, Sinthanai Selvan, MLA, Mayor and Dy.Mayor. The Stall showcases NLCIL’s initiatives towards society under its CSR schemes and its steadfast dedication to the Government of India’s vision of clean energy transmission.

Prasanna Kumar, CMD, NLCIL, speaking on the occasion, reiterated the benefits of cultivating the reading habit among children in the face of technological onslaught brought about by electronic gadgets and how reading has the potential to change the outlook of a person in his life. He exhorted parents not to give mobiles to children below 10 years old. He also called upon children in particular to inculcate the reading habit.

NLCIL’s stall in the Book Fair will be open on all the days of the Book Fair up to 13.03.2023, offering the visitors a view into the future of energy production.
