NTPC Bongaigaon celebrates its 18th Raising Day

New Delhi, Jan 16: NTPC Bongaigaon today celebrated its 18th Raising Day at its plant premises. Karunakar Das, CGM NTPC Bongaigaon hoisted the NTPC flag at administrative building premises followed by NTPC Geet and cutting of cake. Balloons of NTPC Colour was released by Das in the presence of Umesh Singh, GM (Operation & Maintenance), S.K.Jha GM (Fuel Management), Induri S Reddy, GM (Maintenance), Arunashis Das, GM (Project), Sanjay Pande, GM (FGD), G M Thangzom, Commandant, CISF, Departmental Heads and employees from various Depts., Unions and Associations, members of the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club and CISF.

In his address to the employees, Das said NTPC Bongaigaon’s foundation stone laid on 16th January 2006 has not only opened the gates of development in the entire BTR area.

Das highlighted various achievements of the station and how NTPC Bongaigaon has today accelerated not only in many areas of Operations and Maintenance but also have created a positive image in the entire power map of the state and the nation. He underlined the fact that the Station achieved Highest ever monthly generation of 495.3 MU at 91.7% PLF in April’22 surpassing the previous best of 429.63 MU at 77.0% PLF achieved in March 22.

In the area of Ash Utilization, highest ever monthly ash utilization of 55,814 MT was achieved in the month of September with Highest ever daily Ash Utilization of 2484 MT on 12th September,2022. Additionally, in the month of December, we have started utilization of pond ash for the first time. He added that the core strength of NTPC Bongaigaon is the rich pool of experienced professionals with a vibrant group of young executives. The positive energy generated by this team is evident in Operational performance as well as keeping the township life electrifying, Das supplemented.

He emphasised the fact that the commitment of the power station towards our society, environment and nearby stakeholders must be adhered at all levels and urged all to work, think and strategize on projecting NTPC Bongaigaon as a professionally driven and value-based organisation.

Karunakar Das also outlined the initiatives taken in NTPC Bongaigaon on the O&M, environment, ash utilisation and thanked all union and associations, welfare bodies and Bardwi Sikhla Ladies Club for their constant support and feedback.

Later, a tree plantation in the plant premises organised by the Environment Monitoring Group was also done of the occasion by Shri Karunakar Das in the presence of senior officials of the station.
