New Delhi, July 23 Minister of State for Railways, Raosaheb Danve today announced that railways will reduce congestion in Konkan for Ganpati Utsav.
Speaking to mediaperson he said An additional 72 trips were announced on July 14, considering the current need, 40 more trips are being added, and soon a notification to extend 16 trips will also be issued.
The Central Government will take care of every person going to Konkan. We will not allow anyone to go to Konkan to celebrate Ganpati. If the waiting list increases, we will make new arrangements again.
He also said, we are trying our best to solve the problems that may arise in Mumbai and Maharashtra and In-depth study of all these subjects is underway, whether it is water accumulating on the railway tracks, arrangement of lifts for senior citizens, or foot over bridges, escalators, we are taking care that the work will be completed as soon as possible.
Heavy rains affected Lonavla to Khandala to Bhorghat railway line and Bhivpuri to Karjat to Kasara Ghat.
Minister said, that he has immediately spoke to the concerned authorities and reviewed the matter and instructed them to start the relief work immediately.
Indian Railways has arranged for buses from Kasara, Igatpuri and Badlapur to take the stranded passengers to their respective destinations.
