“Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology” an unit of Higher Education Dept. of the Government of Tamilnadu organized the ‘Young Student Scientist Programme’ from 24.12.2018 to 07.01.2019 at Jawahar Science College, Neyveli.
In this program, 83 students of IX standard from the Districts of cuddalore and Nagappatinam studying in Government schools participated. The 15 days camp was completed and the valedictory function was held on, 07.01.2019 . In this function, the participants demonstrated their Scientific exhibits.
Shri.R.Vikraman, Director/ Human Resources NLCIL, the Chief Guest, in his valedictory speech informed that efficient and speedy communication of scientific information as well as its instant access has been crucial for overall development of mankind. He asked the students to try to understand more and evaluate the benefits and limitations of science and scientific applications as well as their effect on life and society.
The Principal Dr.V.T.Chandrasekaran, of the College welcomed the gathering.The Co-Ordinator of the camp,Dr.J.Alavandar,HOD/Computer science presented the report and feedback from the student participants.
Thiru. S. Ganasambandam, Secretary/JawaharEducation Society (JES) and DGM/TS, NLCIL presided the function.Shri.Hemant Kumar, ED/Mines, NLCIL was the Guest of Honour and Felicitated the function.
