VALEDICTORY FUNCTION OF VIGILANCE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN HELD AT NLC INDIA LIMITED

VANQUISH THE THREE DEMONS OF CORRUPTION, FAVOURITISM AND RED-TAPISM TO TAKE THE NATION FORWARD –

New Delhi, Nov 15:  The valedictory function of Vigilance Awareness Campaign – 2024 was conducted by NLCIL Vigilance Department, on 15.11.2024 at NLCIL’s Yegneswaran Auditorium, Learning & Development Centre, Neyveli.

NLC India Limited observed the Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 in line with the directions of Central Vigilance Commission, from 28.10.2024 to 03.11.2024. This year’s Vigilance Awareness Campaign was observed on the theme “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity”.

ThiruPrasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director, NLCIL presided over the function. ThiruAppakannuGovindarajan, IPoS, Chief Vigilance Officer, NLCIL, Thiru Samir Swarup, Director (HR), Dr.Prasanna Kumar Acharya, Director (Finance) and Thiru G. Sivakumar, IPS, DIG/CISF graced the occasion. Senior officers of NLCIL, members of recognised Trade Unions, OBC Association, GEA, NGEA, EA, WIPS, Ladies Club and Cultural Societies, school students and the general public participated in the function.

Dr.Prasanna Kumar Acharya, speaking on the occasion, called for collective responsibility in handling public money to ensure the positive growth of the Nation.

Thiru Samir Swarup, Director (HR), in his address, exhorted everyone to take a pledge to improve existing systems by acting with integrity so that probity gets ingrained in every individual.

ThiruAppakannuGovindarajan, CVO, NLCIL, delivering his address, gave a brief outline of the role of vigilance in an organization while stressing that extending support to the management was of paramount importance. He said that one positive fallout of the vigilance campaign was the success of joint sessions arranged in domain specific interactions and promised that such constructive sessions would be organized in all other domains too. He also called upon all to contribute to the clean image of the Nation by imbibing ethical and honest practices.

ThiruPrasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, in his Presidential Address, placed on record his appreciation to the Vigilance Team for involving all sections of society, especially students in the Vigilance campaign through innovative and eye-catching activities. He gave a renewed call to organize a broad-based vigilance related awareness campaign all-round the year so that the next generation of children would inculcate the spirit of morals and principles. He also drew upon mythological references to the four Yugas and stated that in this “Kali Yuga”, one should learn to vanquish the demons that co-exist within their personalities and develop the good. He called upon Team NLCIL to make systems foolproof against corruption so that the 68-year reputation of the company remained untarnished.He called upon the Vigilance Department to consolidate all meaningful suggestions and recommendations received in the last 3 months’ campaign for the benefit of all employees and stakeholders of NLCIL.

During the occasion, prizes were distributed to winners of various competitions held as part of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign like Shorts/Reels competition, Placard Competition and Stamp Design competitions in various categories. “Vigilant Employee” awards were awarded to employees.

A special edition of “Neyveli Vigil”, an e-Newsletter of NLCIL Vigilance Department was released. Also, a “Theme based Design” installed at the entrance of the Vigilance Department was unveiled by the CMD ThiruPrasanna Kumar Motupalli.A short video encompassing all activities undertaken during the Vigilance Awareness Week was also screened before the programme.

While Thiru A Eraniyan, CGM/Vigilance, welcomed the gathering, Tmt. Chitrakala, GM/Vigilance proposed a Vote of Thanks.
