Mumbai, June 08: State-owned oil marketing giant Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited on Monday said it continues to ensure uninterrupted availability of petrol, diesel, CNG and LPG across Delhi through its robust supply chain and extensive retail network.
The company stated that fuel stocks remain stable across its retail outlets, supported by regular inventory replenishment, efficient logistics management and continuous product movement, ensuring seamless availability for consumers, businesses, transport operators and essential services.
Petrol Sales Rise 2.5% in Delhi
BPCL reported steady growth in petrol consumption across the national capital during May 2026.
According to the company:
- Petrol sales crossed 27,800 metric tonnes (MT) in May 2026.
- Sales stood at over 27,100 MT during May 2025.
- Growth recorded was approximately 2.5 per cent year-on-year.
The increase reflects continued economic activity, higher mobility and sustained demand from commuters and private vehicle owners.
Diesel Demand Also Registers Growth
Diesel consumption in Delhi also recorded positive growth during the month.
Key figures include:
- Diesel sales exceeded 16,500 MT in May 2026.
- Sales were over 16,100 MT during May 2025.
- Year-on-year growth stood at approximately 2.9 per cent.
The company attributed the increase to commercial transportation, logistics operations and business activity across the capital region.
BPCL Supplies Over 33,400 MT of CNG
BPCL said it supplied more than 33,400 metric tonnes of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) during May 2026.
The CNG supply supported:
- Delhi’s public transport network
- Commercial vehicle operators
- Taxi and cab services
- Growing adoption of cleaner mobility solutions
The company noted that demand for cleaner transportation fuels continues to rise as consumers increasingly shift towards environmentally friendly alternatives.
More Than 7.7 Lakh LPG Cylinders Delivered
Apart from transportation fuels, BPCL continued to cater to a large base of LPG consumers in Delhi.
During May 2026, the company supplied:
- Over 7.7 lakh domestic LPG cylinders
- More than 18,000 commercial LPG cylinders
- Over 22,000 FTL (Free Trade LPG) cylinders
The figures highlight strong demand from households, restaurants, hotels, small businesses and commercial establishments.

According to BPCL, the growth in fuel consumption reflects:

- Increased passenger mobility
