Vigilance Awareness Week -2018 observed in NLCIL

As a responsible citizen, each individual with integrity definitely can make a difference in the society by breaking the chain of corruption – Shri P.Sarvanan, IPS, Superindent of Police, Cuddalore during Vigilance Awareness Week Valedictory at Neyveli.

The Valedictory Function of the Vigilance Awareness Week Programme-2018 was held at     L & DC Auditorium, Neyveli on 03.11.2018.  Shri P.Sarvanan, IPS Superindent of Police, Cuddalore,the Chief Guest  in his speech stated that Greed, Social disparity, political affiliations, lack of integrity and awareness may lead to corrupt activities but with awareness and self-realization, if people refuse to allow corruption into their lives, there will be no opportunity for the corrupt to carry out their illegal deeds. So as a responsible citizen, each individual definitely can make a difference by breaking the chain of corruption by showing integrity.

Shri V. Thangapandian Director (Power),NLCIL the president of the Function, the observance of the Vigilance Awareness Week every year  to re alert society to aware how to fight against evil practices and make them to ensure their responsibilities and duties for stronger society.

Shri T. Venkatasubramanian, IRSME, Chief Vigilance Officer/NLCIL in his address explained various activities carried out by NLCIL Vigilance Department during Vigilance Awareness Week 2018. He informed that, Vigilance Department of NLCIL is planned to equip  faculty of  Neyveli schools  by providing special training through reputed Institutions to  handle ‘Ethical Classes’ which are been carrying out in Neyveli Schools.

To mark the occasion, a special Edition of Vigilance Department in house Journal “Lignite Eyes” was released by Shri P. Sarvanan, Superindent of Police.

Shri R. Vikraman, Director (HR), NLCIL, presented the “Most Vigilant Employee” awards to employees of Vigilance Department and other Departments. Also,  e annual report of NLCIL Department of Vigilance released by Shri  N.N.M Rao, Director (P&P).

Earlier, to ensure the Transparency in Administration, an integrated file and records management system that allows employees to manage content, search for data internally and collaborate, besides paperless progression in work  a new system e – Office  introduced by the  HR. Dept of NLCIL was inaugurated by  Shri R. Vikraman, Director (HR).  Also, various new initiatives like General Hospital Lab Report Mobile App for employees and their dependents, the Online Employees Grievance Redressal System Portal and Ethical Awareness Card for all employees were released by Officials.

In connection with the Vigilance Awareness Week,  Painting and Poetry competitions  were organized jointly by NLCIL and  The Hindu Group,  a  total of 9912 students belonging to 428 schools of Tamilnadu participated in the Painting  competition and  793 students from 137 schools  participated in the poetry competition from various parts of Tamilnadu.

Also, Chief Guest and officials presented prizes to the winners of the state level Short Film competition organized by NLCIL Vigilance Department on the Vigilance Theme of the Year “Eradicate Corruption –Build a New India” and to the students who won the Essay and Elocution competitions organized for  Neyveli Schools and Colleges.
