New Delhi, Dec 30: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has won a Rs 201 crore contract from East Coast Railway to set up a wagon overhaul workshop at Kantabanji, which will have a capacity to handle 200 wagons.
RVNL was the sole bidder for the project, expected to be completed in 18 months. Additionally, RVNL recently received a Rs 145.35 crore order from Southern Railway for a traction power project that includes the design and commissioning of traction substations and power systems.
This order falls under the company’s regular business operations and does not involve related-party transactions. However, RVNL’s shares declined by 5.43% on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday.
