New Delhi, May 21: REC Foundation, the CSR arm of REC Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial (LLRM) Medical College to provide doorstep primary healthcare services to underserved communities in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district.

The agreement, signed on May 21, 2026, reflects REC Foundation’s continued focus on improving healthcare accessibility and supporting last-mile medical services.

The signing ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament Arun Govil, LLRM Medical College Principal Ramesh Gupta and senior REC officials, including Director (Projects) TSC Bosh, Director (Finance) Rajesh Kumar, Executive Director (CSR) Arun Kumar Tyagi and HOD (CSR) Bhupesh Chandolia.

Under the agreement, REC Foundation has committed financial assistance of Rs 1.20 crore for the procurement and deployment of a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU), including operational support for a period of three years.

The mobile healthcare facility is expected to provide essential medical services to remote and deprived communities, improving access to timely healthcare for people with limited proximity to hospitals and medical centres.

REC Foundation said the initiative forms part of its broader CSR strategy aimed at inclusive development and strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the country.

The foundation noted that targeted healthcare interventions such as mobile medical units play an important role in bridging healthcare gaps and extending medical services to vulnerable populations.
