PM Modi inaugurates Delhi Dehradun Economic Corridor

New Delhi, April 14 On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the Delhi Dehradun Expressway, a big infrastructure project that will improve transportation between the national capital and Uttarakhand.

The 210-km economic corridor, which cost ₹11,868 crore to build, should cut the time it takes to get from Delhi to Dehradun from about 6.5 hours to just 2.5 hours. The new expressway also makes the distance between the two cities shorter, from 235 km to 210 km.

The Prime Minister was warmly welcomed in Dehradun, where many people came out to see him during a roadshow, waving the Tricolour and chanting slogans in support. Women and children in traditional clothes lined the streets to welcome him.

During his visit, PM Modi prayed at the Jai Maa Daat Kali Temple and talked to people who were there. He also looked over the wildlife corridor part of the expressway in Saharanpur, which was made to keep animals safe while they move.

The event was attended by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Yogi Adityanath, Anandiben Patel, and Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak.

Officials also put on an exhibit that showed how the wildlife corridor was built and designed. This showed how it helps balance the growth of infrastructure with the protection of the environment.
