Oil India Limited contributesRs. 3.20 Crores to the Chief Minister Relief Fund, Government of Odisha

Odisha is one of the worst affected states in the recently hit cyclone ‘FANI’ which made landfall in Puri on 03.05.2019, leaving a trail of widespread devastation across the state and causing manifold misery to its people.Said to be an extremely severe cyclonic storm since the super cyclone of 1999,‘FANI’ affected nearly 11 districts in Odisha, ravaging homesand leading to large scale ecological, financial and infrastructural damage.

In the aftermath of the destruction, Shri Naveen Pattanaik, Chief Minister of Odisha had made a request to Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development for sending 10 Lakh litres (1000 KL) of kerosene to Odisha for relief works. MoPNG has therefore requested Oil India Limited (OIL) for contributing the fund of Rs 3.20 Crores which is equal to the cost of 10 Lakh litres of kerosene. OIL has contributed the above amount towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Government of Odisha, today. The cheque was handed over by Shri Rajeev Singhal, GM(F&A), OIL  to Shri BishnupadaSethi, Special Relief Commissioner today ie 13.05.2019, at Bhubaneswar.

Oil India Limited (OIL), India’s second largest National Exploration & Production Company, is deeply pained by the devastation and stands in solidarity with the people of Odisha during these harsh hours.
