The laboratories are named after prominent personalities who contributed to the region’s development.

Each lab has been established at a cost of ₹20 lakh, with the overall project investment reaching ₹60 lakh.

The facilities are equipped with over 30 scientific learning tools, including telescopes, demonstration rockets, educational drones, space suits, satellite imagery learning kits and interactive science modules designed to make science education experiential.

The labs aim to provide students with hands-on exposure to space science, astronomy and emerging technologies, helping them better understand scientific concepts through demonstrations and experiments.

Each centre is expected to benefit over 1,000 students annually, offering opportunities to explore science and technology beyond conventional classroom learning and encouraging interest in careers related to science, technology, engineering and research.

Officials said the initiative reflects NTPC Limited’s ongoing commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure and promoting scientific temper among youth in the Bodoland region through its CSR programmes.
