NLC INDIA CELEBRATES UGADI


Ugadi, the Telugu New Year Day, was celebrated at Neyveli on 06.04.19 with traditional fervor in a grand manner.

As a socially responsible company and a pioneer among PSUs, NLC India has been organizing social functions to promote National integration, Universal brotherhood and to uphold the cultural heritage of various states of India. Like last year, Ugadi, the Telugu New Year Day, was celebrated at Learning & Development Centre. Members of Telugu Kala Samithi, Neyveli along with their families and employees of NLC India participated in the celebrations.

Rakesh Kumar, CMD, NLCIL, speaking on the occasion, said that social functions were being organised to bring togetherness and social camaraderie among employees. He said Ugadi symbolized a new beginning of positivity, both in our personal lives and our professional & social lives. He recalled the history of Neyveli Telugu Kala Samithi, which was started during 1962, to cater to the social needs of Telugu speaking people in Neyveli.  He also appreciated the services of Neyveli Telugu Samithi Educational Academy (NTSEA), a unit of Neyveli Telugu Kala Samithi in preparing Neyveli students for the IIT JEE & NEET exams.

Functional Directors R. Vikraman, N.N.M. Rao, Prabhakar Chowki and T. Venkatasubramanian, CVO, along with their spouses participated in the function. Cultural programmes including songs, dances and a Visual enactment of the story of Goddess Kanaka Durga, the presiding diety of the Durga Temple atop the Indrakeeladri hills at Vijayawada were organised by the members of the Neyveli Telugu Kala Samithi.
