Tehran, April 8: Iran has agreed to temporarily reopen the Strait of Hormuz for two weeks, signalling a possible de-escalation in tensions with the US.
Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said Iran will halt its military response if attacks against it stop, making the move conditional on reciprocal action.
The development follows Donald Trump’s announcement of a two-week pause in planned US strikes, tied to the Strait’s reopening and ongoing peace talks.
Both sides indicated progress in negotiations, raising hopes for a broader agreement and stability in the region.
