Indian Mines are moving towards Zero-harm Mines ! – Sri Utpal Saha, Dy. Director General, Directorate General of Mines Safety

In the final day function of the State Level Mines Safety Observance Week held at Neyveli, Sri Utpal Saha, Dy. Director General, Southern Region, Bangaluru, Directorate General of Mines Safety  with the continuous efforts taken by the Directorate, accidents in Indian Mines and fatal had considerably been reduced and NLCIL marching towards Accident Free Department.

After the Zonal level Mines Safety Observance Week held at 675 Mines situated in Chennai, Salem, Trichy, Neyveli, Tirunelveli Zones in different periods, the final day of the State Level Mines Safety Observance Week was held at Lignite Hall, Neyveli on 09.09.2018. In the valedictory function, Shri Utpal Saha, who participated as Chief Guest, said, that by implementing of Modern Mines Safety Technology, accident free production can be ensured. Also , it is under presumption with the general public, that all Mines related work will lead to environmental problems, which may be wiped off, when activities in Mines are adopted with much care in ecological balance.

Shri Rakesh Kumar, CMD (Additional Charge) & Director (Finance), NLCIL, said, as NLC India is marching towards production of Power at 2 Crore Unit/Hour in the year 2025, special attention on safety also being taken, to face the rapid development, in parallel. Also said, one should not come to a conclusion, that measures taken towards safety is sufficient; instead, it should be a continuous process with endeavour of more improvement and perfection.
