India Is a Stable Growth Engine; Best Time for Youth to Join Workforce, Says Hardeep Puri

New Delhi, Jan 03:India is currently generating 920 tonnes per day (TPD) of energy from 132 compressed biogas plants, as stated by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

Highlighting the success of the Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) initiative, he noted the conversion of farm waste into clean fuel, contributing to rural income and reduced emissions.

The energy infrastructure includes 33 crore Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) households, 1.58 crore piped natural gas (PNG) homes, and 8,428 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations, underpinned by a 25,429 km pipeline network.

The government is enhancing natural gas availability through the expansion of the National Gas Grid and the introduction of unified tariffs, facilitating greater access to domestic gas resources.
