New Delhi, Feb 1 The government will soon announce a detailed scheme to boost mobile phone, other electronics and semi-conductors manufacturing in the country, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in her 2020-21 Budget speech on Saturday.
Paying attention to the demand from various trade bodies like the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), the Finance Minister said the aim is to promote ‘Make in India’ initiative.
She also announced ‘Nirvik’ scheme for digital refunds of duties to exporters, to be launched this year itself.
