IGL AND DELHI POLICE JOIN HANDS TOWARDS ENFORCEMENT OF CNG SAFETY INITIATIVES

New Delhi, 27th September 2019: With a view to enforce the safety provisions related to CNG run vehicles as per law, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) and Delhi Police today joined hands towards enforcement of various safety initiatives to ensure CNG related safety.

Section 52 of Motor Vehicle Act 1989 mandates that every CNG run vehicle including buses, autos or private cars must have endorsement of the CNG fuel mode on the registration certificate (RC). Any vehicle not complying with the above provision can be impounded under law. This was reiterated by Sh. Narendra Singh Bundela, IPS, Jt. Commissioner (Traffic), while addressing a Press Conference at Headquarters of Delhi Traffic Police in Todapur today in presence of Shri Amit Garg, Director (Commercial), IGL and senior officers of Delhi Traffic Police and IGL. Sh. Bundela also announced that a campaign is being started by Delhi Traffic Police to ensure strict compliance with the law.
