New Delhi, May 15: A new 300-metre Foot Over Bridge (FOB) connecting Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station with Sarai Kale Khan Namo Bharat Station has been commissioned and opened for public use, enhancing multimodal connectivity and commuter convenience in the national capital.

The infrastructure aims to facilitate seamless passenger movement between the railway station and the Namo Bharat transit network, significantly improving accessibility and reducing transfer time for daily commuters and long-distance travellers.

The FOB is equipped with six moving walkways (travellators), each measuring 65 metres, with three installed in each direction to support faster pedestrian movement. Commuters can cover the entire stretch in approximately 4–5 minutes.

To improve accessibility, the Sarai Kale Khan station entry and exit structures have been integrated with elevators suitable for Divyangjan passengers, along with escalators for efficient vertical mobility. The facility also includes directional signages, instruction boards, adequate lighting, and CCTV surveillance for safety and ease of navigation.

On the railway station side, authorities have provided five ticket counters for Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) services and one enquiry counter. Additionally, eight Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) and QR code-based ticketing access through the Rail One Super App have been introduced to support digital ticketing adoption.

The new FOB is expected to streamline passenger flow between Hazrat Nizamuddin station and the Sarai Kale Khan transport hub, while also offering improved pedestrian connectivity from the Ring Road corridor.

The development forms part of broader efforts to strengthen integrated urban mobility infrastructure and enhance last-mile connectivity across Delhi’s expanding regional transit ecosystem.
