New Delhi, Feb 22: Ayodhya, the spiritual, mythological and birthplace of Lord Shri Ram comes under the jurisdiction of Northern Railway, Lucknow division, receives a large number of visitors and devotees from every region of the world and India every day at this station by various trains. To provide passenger facilities and other amenities, renovation of Ayodhya Cantt station is in full swing besides other infrastructure development works and projects. Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager, Northern Railway reached Lucknow today on an inspection visit to take stock of the progress of the various infrastructure enhancement projects ongoing over Lucknow-Ayodhya section and review the safety arrangements. He is accompanied by senior railway officials of headquarters and Lucknow division.
As part of his today’s inspection program, the General Manager, along with the officers of the Headquarters and the Divisional Railway Manager, Lucknow, Suresh Kumar Sapra and other officers visited Ayodhya Jn station. Gangal took stock of the station development works, yard re-modelling of Ayodhya Cantt station & re-development of station and after reviewing all these works passed necessary instructions and guidelines in this regard.
Gangal inspected all the ongoing development works at Ayodhya Jn. station and after discussion with the officials instructed them to complete it in the stipulated time frame. He emphasized on the construction of Chord Line from Darshannagar to Katra, Phase-2 planning of Ayodhya Jn. and upgradation of other stations located around Ayodhya including Bilharghat, Darshannagar and got the detailed information about the goods shed being built in Salarpur. Gangal also saw the powerpoint presentation of the master plan of the Ayodhya area.The General Manager also interacted with the media persons present at the station on this occasion. The General Manager inspected the stations located on the Lucknow-Ayodhya railway section through window trailing and intensively reviewed the safety of the railway track and work of Malhaur yard re-modelling.
After this, the General Manager reached the Divisional Office, Lucknow and participated in the safety-related meeting organized in the auditorium of the office. After interaction and discussion with officials he passed the necessary suggestions and instructions in this regard. Gangal said that safety is the utmost priority of the railway.
