New Delhi, April 15: GAIL (India) Limited has signed contract agreements with TUSCO Limited to develop a 600 MW solar power project at a solar park in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, marking a key step in its clean energy expansion strategy.
The project will be integrated with a 550 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to ensure reliable and efficient power supply. It will primarily meet the captive energy requirements of GAIL’s petrochemical plant at Pata in Auraiya district, while also supporting additional demand from electrification of gas-based equipment and upcoming CBG plants in the state.
Senior officials from both companies, including R K Singhal, Director (Business Development), GAIL, and Anil Tyagi, CEO, TUSCO, were present during the signing of the agreement.
The initiative aligns with GAIL’s strategy to diversify into low-carbon and sustainable energy solutions, while strengthening its operational footprint in Uttar Pradesh.
