New Delhi, 31.12.2020: On 30.12.2020 at about 1205 hrs, during baggage screening through X-BIS machine at Majlis Park metro station, CISF personnel noticed an image of currency inside a baggage of a passenger. Immediately, CISF personnel stopped the conveyor belt as well as passenger to check the bag thoroughly/physically. On enquiry, the passenger disclosed his identified as Deepak Kumar, aged about 28 yrs, R/O Loni, Ghaziabad (UP). He revealed that he is employee of a Trading Company located at Chandni Chowk, Delhi and was carrying cash INR 21 lakh for business purpose.
On further enquiry, he could not produce any valid document to carry such amount of currency. Senior Officer of CISF and Station Controller were informed. DMRP Azadpur and IT Department were also informed. The bag was physical checked in presence of DMRP & IT Officials. On physical checking of the bag, cash amounting to Rs. 29 lakh (500×5000, 2000×200) was found inside bag.
Later, the said passenger along with cash amounting to Rs 29 lakh was handed over to IT Officials for further action in the matter.
