The Indian government launched the e-Shram website on August 26, 2021. This website helps workers without regular jobs. These workers include delivery riders and farm helpers. The system gives them a unique ID number. It keeps all their details in one behemoth database.
As of July 14, 2026, over 31.78 crore workers joined the portal. This is a gargantuan number. Smt. Shobha Karandlaje shared this information today. She is the Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment. She gave a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
Local Web Pages Support Workers In Different States
The Ministry created special local web pages for different states on January 29, 2025. These local pages help states meet their specific local needs. They make it easy for workers to sign up and update their profiles.
One Portal Links Fifteen Aid Schemes
The government wanted a single place for workers to get aid. So, the Ministry started the ‘One-Stop-Solution’ on October 21, 2024. This portal links different government aid programs together. Workers can log in to see what benefits they can get. It also shows them the help they already received.
The portal has fifteen different government help programs. These programs have many sign-ups:
- The Ayushman Bharat health scheme has over 15 crore workers.
- The One Nation One Ration Card has over 24 crore workers.
- The Suraksha Bima accident insurance has over 8.5 crore workers.
- The rural jobs program has over 6.2 crore workers.
- The Kisan Samman farmer support has over 3.9 crore workers.
- The Jeevan Jyoti life insurance has over 2.2 crore workers.
- The rural housing program has over 98 lakh workers.
- The street vendors scheme has over 32 lakh workers.
