New Delhi, May 06: Narendra Modi met To Lam in New Delhi for wide-ranging discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation across sectors, as both countries mark a decade of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The visiting Vietnamese leader was accorded a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan and later held delegation-level talks at Hyderabad House. He also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat.
During the visit, Droupadi Murmu and other senior leaders are scheduled to engage with the Vietnamese President. Earlier, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval held discussions with To Lam on expanding strategic cooperation.
The visit underscores improving diplomatic momentum between the two nations, with both sides aiming to deepen collaboration in areas such as trade, security, and regional engagement.
To Lam also visited Mahabodhi Temple in Bihar, highlighting cultural and civilisational ties. His itinerary includes a visit to Mumbai, where he is scheduled to engage with business leaders and visit the National Stock Exchange.
The visit is expected to inject fresh momentum into India-Vietnam relations, opening new avenues for cooperation and reinforcing a decade of strategic partnership between the two countries.
