Guwahati to Host National Textiles Ministers’ Conference on Jan 8–9, 2026

Textiles PLI Scheme : Deadline for Fresh Applications Extended to March 31

New Delhi, Jan 03: The National Textiles Ministers’ Conference, organized by the Ministry of Textiles and the Government of Assam, will be held on 8–9 January 2026 in Guwahati, Assam, under the theme “India’s Textiles: Weaving Growth, Heritage & Innovation.”

The two-day event aims to gather Union and State Ministers of Textiles and senior officials to discuss strategies for establishing India as a global textiles manufacturing hub, targeting a USD 350 billion industry and USD 100 billion in exports by 2030.

The conference on 8 January will include an inaugural session with key dignitaries, and sessions on various topics including Infrastructure & Investment, Expanding Exports, and revitalizing traditional textiles.

A separate conclave will focus on strengthening the textile sector in the North-Eastern region, promoting women-led enterprises, and highlighting the area’s unique textile strengths. Additionally, an exhibition of Indian handlooms and handicrafts will take place.
