New Delhi, Dec 30: Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced that the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is implementing significant reforms through the National Centre for Communication Security (NCCS) to enhance telecom security, ease compliance, and support industry growth.
Key reforms include a two-year extension of the Pro Tem Security Certification Scheme for OEMs and reduced fees for Telecom Security Testing Laboratories. These changes aim to foster business ease for telecom manufacturers by significantly lowering compliance burdens, particularly for women-led and MSME Testing Labs.
The initiatives also encourage innovation and broadband expansion while reinforcing India’s position in telecom manufacturing and security testing. Overall, these steps align with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, emphasizing security and efficiency in the telecom sector.
