Indian Railways Rolls Out Summer Special Trains Across Key Routes

Guwahati, Dec 28: Indian Railways is executing a nationwide plan to double train capacity in 48 major cities, including Guwahati, by 2030 to meet increasing passenger demand.

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is expanding coaching terminals and improving infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency and connectivity. Significant projects include the Kamakhya-New Guwahati 3rd Line Project and the Agthori-Kamakhya Double Line Project, aimed at easing congestion and boosting railway capacity.

A Mega Coaching Complex and the redevelopment of Guwahati Railway Station into a modern facility will further improve services. The NFR focuses on translating the national vision of railway modernization into actionable developments in the region.
