New Delhi, Dec 24: ISRO achieved a significant milestone on December 24, launching the LVM3-M6 rocket with the BlueBird Block-2 satellite, marking the heaviest payload (6,100 kg) deployed into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) in LVM3 history.
This mission, the vehicle’s sixth operational flight, aims to enhance space-based cellular broadband connectivity, providing high-speed 4G and 5G services directly to smartphones.
The satellite, developed by AST SpaceMobile, is part of the next generation of BlueBird Block-2 systems and will bolster telecommunications technology.
This launch follows ISRO’s successful collaboration with the US, including the recent NISAR mission. The growing capabilities of ISRO in space technology reflect India’s advancing position in the sector.
