New Delhi, Dec 20 REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has emerged as a major winner at the 5th PSU Transformation Awards 2025, securing top honours in four prestigious categories. The awards recognise REC’s excellence in cyber security, ESG leadership, risk management, and digital transformation, reinforcing its position as a leading PSU in India’s power and infrastructure financing sector.
In the Resilience in Action Award category, REC received the Silver Award for Cyber Defense & Resilience for strengthening its cyber security architecture and enhancing preparedness against evolving digital threats. The award was received by K. Venugopal, Sr GM & HoD, CISO; Richa Chaturvedi, DM, Farhan Asif, Officer.
Under the Green PSU Awards, REC won the Gold Award for ESG Leadership & Net-Zero Operations, highlighting its strong commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices and its ongoing efforts towards achieving net-zero emissions. The honour was accepted by Awanish Kumar Bharati, General Manager (Finance), and Neha Sharma, Deputy General Manager (Finance).
REC’s focus on institutionalising best-in-class governance frameworks was further recognised with the Risk Management Leader Award for successful implementation of ISO 31000 Risk Management Guidelines across the organisation. The award was received by Jeetender Kumar, Deputy General Manager (Finance), and Hitesh Kumar Meena, Deputy Manager.
Strengthening its digital footprint, REC also secured the Rising Star Award for the transformation of its official website, recognised as a modern, user-friendly digital platform that reflects the company’s evolving corporate identity. The award was received by Ujjal Mondal, Assistant Manager (BDM).
These multiple awards at the PSU Transformation Awards 2025 reaffirm REC Limited’s leadership in innovation, sustainability, governance and digital excellence, aligning with India’s broader goals of power sector reform, infrastructure development and energy transition.
