SBI Q2 Profit Up 6.4%, Asset Quality Strengthens

Mumbai, Nov 04: SBI reported a 6.4% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for Q2 FY26, reaching Rs 21,504.49 crore, compared to Rs 20,219.62 crore in Q2 FY25.

Standalone net profit rose 10% to Rs 20,159.67 crore, driven by loan growth and better asset quality. Net interest income grew 3.28% YoY to Rs 42,984 crore, though domestic net interest margin declined to 3.09%. Operating profit increased by 8.91% to Rs 31,904 crore, with total advances up 12.73%.

Asset quality improved, with the gross NPA ratio falling to 1.73% and net NPA ratio to 0.42%, while the provision coverage ratio improved to 75.79%.
