Neyveli, Nov 01 NLC India Limited (NLCIL), Navratna Status PSU under Ministry of Coal has commissioned an additional 106 MW solar capacity at its #Barsingsar Solar Power Project in Rajasthan, bringing the total capacity to 158.83 MW. This milestone was certified by the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited on November 2, 2025.
Speaking on the occasion, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director, NLC India Limited, stated ““This commissioning marks another step forward in NLCIL’s journey towards a sustainable and diversified energy portfolio. NLCIL is steadfastly pursuing its renewable energy expansion plan with an aim to achieve 10 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by 2030, in addition to ongoing solar and wind projects across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Assam, and Tamil Nadu. These initiatives reaffirm our commitment to India’s national renewable energy targets and our vision of a cleaner, greener future.”
The project, part of the CPSU Scheme Phase-II, utilizes indigenously manufactured bifacial solar PV modules, aligning with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. NLCIL’s installed renewable energy capacity now totals 1,588.83 MW, aiming to generate 10 GW by 2030. The solar power generated will support Rajasthan’s clean energy mix. Chairman Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli emphasized NLCIL’s commitment to sustainable energy and India’s Net Zero goals.
