New Delhi, Oct 13: As of October 12, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced that 10.6 crore homes in India are using affordable LPG, with daily visits to fuel stations by 67 million people.

India ranks as the world’s third largest consumer of oil and LPG, boasting the position of the fourth largest LNG importer and refining hub globally.

The minister noted a significant increase in oil refining capacity, advancements in exploration, and a substantial investment of over $1.3 billion in the upstream oil segment, facilitating over 172 hydrocarbon discoveries since 2015.

The geographical significance of the AN basin enhances its attractiveness for hydrocarbon exploration, aligned with India’s efforts to ensure a secure and sustainable energy future.
