The terminal is part of the Cruise Bharat Mission, aiming to enhance India’s international cruise presence. The new facility, which replaced an old terminal at Ballard Pier, covers 4,15,000 sq. ft., has a capacity of 1 million passengers annually, and can accommodate up to 5 ships simultaneously.

The initiative is expected to boost passenger numbers, with over 100 cruise calls and approximately 2.5 lakh annual passengers noted post-Covid. The event emphasized infrastructure growth and collaboration in the maritime and shipbuilding sectors, including a MoU for a mega shipbuilding cluster in Maharashtra.
